1984 PEUGEOT 205 GTI French vehicle registration certificate Chassis No. VF3741C66E5323310 - One of the first 205 GTIs produced - Only 137,000 km - Meije White Introduced in 1984, the Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 quickly established itself as a benchmark among compact sports cars. Its success was built on a lightweight platform, responsive powertrain, and a particularly precise chassis, delivering a driving experience that was both engaging and efficient. It perfectly embodies the spirit of the 1980s GTIs, an era when performance and driving pleasure were expressed with great simplicity. In 1986, the 1.6 was updated with a new 115-chevaux engine, thereby narrowing the power gap with the competition and the GTI 1.9. The example we are offering is a PEUGEOT 205 GTI 1.6 105, delivered new on June 12, 1984. It is therefore one of the very first GTIs to be delivered. This car is in its original Blanc Meije paint. Regularly maintained, it notably had its shock absorbers and brake calipers replaced during a service in 2018. Another service was performed in 2022, including the replacement of the right front control arm and the exhaust system, as well as repairs to the fuel system and ignition system (ignition module, spark plugs, starter motor…), at a cost of €5,000. The body and upholstery are in condition commensurate with its age and reasonable mileage of 137,000 km. The embodiment of 1980s dynamism, the Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6 transformed a simple city car into a true cultural phenomenon, helping to permanently cement the Lion brand’s place in the history of popular automobiles. 1984 PEUGEOT 205 GTI 1.6 105 French vehicle registration document Chassis no.
