After Jean-Baptiste PIGALLE (1714–1785) Bohumil REZL (1899–1963), Villenauxe Manufactory Child with a Cage White glazed porcelain figure, signed in blue on the underside 15 x 9 x 10.5 cm History Acclaimed by the public and critics from its creation in 1749, and considered Jean-Baptiste Pigalle’s masterpiece, “The Child with the Cage” served as a model for sculptors in the second half of the 18th century as well as for painters, who incorporated marble into their portraits and still lifes. The original model is now housed at the Louvre Museum under the reference number (RF 654).
