A prayer book : Dala'il al-Khayrat, Ottoman Turkey, dated AH1170/1756AD, Arabic manuscript on paper, 70ff., 1fl., 15ll. of black and red naskh script to the page within thin gold borders ruled in black and wider plain margins, plain and dyed pink and green paper, plain gold headings or text separators, catchword to each right page's lower left corner, plain gold roundel markers, the illuminated opening bifolio's headboard consisting of a floral trendrils against blue and gold under a cusped pointed arch picked in orange, stylised red and green floral sprays above, a plain gold cusped cartouche below against blue ground and a floral field, the whole within a three sided pink and yellow strapwork borders, the binding tooled with a gilt central mandorla containing interlocking cloud bands, each corner spandrels with similar decoration, the flap similarly decorated, seal impression to folio 13v.'s outer margin, text block slightly loose, upper board detached, stained, 20.5 x 12cm., folio 20.2 x 11cm.
