Set of three cigarette cases, first half of the 20th century. Hallmarked silver. One of them has an interior mirror and a compartment for cigarettes; another has a partially gilded interior. They show minor scuffs and a patina consistent with their age. Total weight: 612 g. Measurements of the smallest: 9.5 × 12 cm (the largest) The variety of finishes and the quality of craftsmanship place this set within the tradition of silver personal items developed during the early decades of the 20th century. The three cigarette cases have rectangular profiles with simple lines and hinged closures, distinguished by different surface treatments: regular grooves, linear bands, and smooth surfaces that highlight the metal’s luster. Of particular interest is the piece featuring an interior mirror and a lower compartment, designed as a small portable vanity accessory, while the others retain a layout more directly linked to their use as cigarette cases. The combination of functionality, compact size, and meticulous craftsmanship reflects the taste for luxury personal accessories characteristic of the interwar period, when such objects became widely popular.
