HÜE (Georges) (1858–1948). French composer, born in Versailles. Winner of the Prix de Rome in 1879, author of numerous operas and lyrical works, notably *Le Roi de Paris*, *Titania*, and *Le Miracle*. Handwritten musical fragment with lyrics and signature attributed to Georges Hüe. No place, no date. 1 page, oblong in-12 format. Ink and pencil on paper with serrated edges. A CURIOUS, HUMOROUS MUSICAL FRAGMENT REFERRING TO THE MUSICIAN RENÉ DELMAS. A few musical notes are written on a staff, accompanied by the following lyrics: “Delmas plays like a foot.” A handwritten signature appears below the musical notation. This small document attests to the humor that could characterize the relationships between musicians and accompanists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The piece has a few creases and slight signs of wear.
