Homosexuality - LGBTQ - Kane, Art. Untitled. (Dress-off Man). Series of seven gelatin-silver prints. Vintages. Each reverse side inscribed with “Cosmo 5/83 p. 58/59 by Art Kane” in ballpoint pen or pencil. 1983. Sheet dimensions: 35.5 x 28.5 cm each. As each item of clothing falls away, more life enters the young man—who at first, still in his suit, poses as stiffly and unnaturally as a mannequin—until the fedora gets caught all by itself on his crown jewels. - The photographs, some of which are marked with typesetting symbols on the reverse, were possibly intended for publication in the May issue of Cosmopolitan. - Slightly wavy; the first photograph has a distinct crease in the lower right corner and staple marks in the upper left corner; otherwise, only slight rubbing and creasing.
