Iannone, Dorothy. Lady Liberty. Color silkscreen on paper. 1977. Sheet dimensions: 83.5 x 59.5 cm. A rare poster featuring the title of the exhibition “Sound Boxes, Texts, Video” at the Studiogalerie Berlin. The gallery, operated by Mike Steiner at its Ludwigkirchstraße location until 1977, provided Iannone—who came to Berlin in 1976 on a DAAD scholarship—with the space for what was likely her first exhibition in Germany. - In 2014, the Berlinische Galerie dedicated a major retrospective to the artist, who passed away in 2022; the Centre Pompidou followed suit in 2019. - Edges show minimal wear in places; otherwise in very good condition.
