Claire Dévé French couture 'Memphis' design cuff 80s Memphis-inspired Postmodern Couture Jewellery by the famous french designer Claire Dévé. This rare cuff made by Claire Dévé in the early 80s has really the visual characteristics of this Memphis-aesthetic: a black background, irregular colourful geometric elements, and a striking sculptural silhouette. Dimensions approx: Inside diameter: 7 cm. (2.75 in.), Width: 11 cm. (4.33 in.) Excellent vintage condition (new old stock) Special Provenance: Personal collection of Claire Dévé. Delivered with her certificate. Memphis group Founded in Milan in 1980 by Ettore Sottsass and fellow designers, Memphis became famous for its playful geometric shapes, vibrant colours, bold contrasts and rejection of traditional elegance.
