St. Petersburg, Yasni, 1918. 87 pp., 1 blank leaf; 33.5 x 25 cm. Illustrated original paperback (heavily browned and stained, several small edge defects, spine restored, back cover with 2 larger edge defects). First edition. — One of 950 (GA 1000) copies, unnumbered here. — Cf. Thieme-Becker XV 35. — Title page and colophon in both French and Russian; text in Russian. - With contributions by V. Dmitriev and V. Vojnov. The zincographs and 5 phototypes in this edition reproduce Grigor’ev’s brush and pencil drawings depicting the so-called “milieu.” The eponymous “Intimité” is presented as a partly mystical distinction without simply laying it bare; the protagonists of the drawings are also depicted as self-assured and socially active figures. Printed on coated paper (except for the phototypes) at the 15th State Printing House. — The five phototypes are browned and stained due to the paper; one of them is loose and has slight edge discoloration. *
