JAPAN, IMARI—20th CENTURY Pair of vases made of porcelain, decorated with blue underglaze enamel, red, and gold in reserved areas featuring phoenixes or chidori birds in trees, against a background of small flowers and plant medallions. Included is a fluted, lidded potiche with underglaze blue, iron-red, and gold enamel decoration featuring lambrequins and foliage. One firing crack and a chip on the foot; the potiche’s handle is broken but preserved. H: 30 cm
