Miscellaneous - Film - Seven promotional photos for the silent film "Der Würger." Vintage. Gelatin silver print. Size: approx. 21 x 28 cm. A villain causes train accidents because he operates competing bus lines. This is depicted in the photos. The film was a British-German co-production (English title: *The Wrecker*) directed by Geza v. Bolvary, based on a story by Edgar Wallace. The producers were the British company Gainsborough Pictures Ltd. and the Berlin-based F.P.S. (Felner-Pressburger-Somlo) Film GmbH. Pressburger later moved to Hollywood. The German version of this film was a resounding failure; moviegoers demanded their money back... Reverse side bears various Viennese distributor stamps (Pan Film, Apollo Film) — Never hung, in good condition.
