Russian Children's Books - Vvedensky, Aleksandr I. *Leto i zima* (Summer and Winter). Cover and lithographic text illustrations by Vasily Kobelev. Moscow, Detizdat CK VLKSM, 1935. 24 pp. 22 x 17.5 cm. Tinted original paperback (spine rubbed and slightly bumped at the top, tiny number stamps at the bottom of the spine). First edition. — Turchinsky, p. 107. - Only a small portion of Vvedenskij’s poems—which avoided any ambiguity—were published before his relocation to Kharkiv; they were deeply suspect to the “orthodox” critics. The poet died in December 1941 under unexplained circumstances while in custody. - Printed in Leningrad by Poligrafkniga; the cover was printed at the Tomskij Printing House. In the year of publication, the children’s magazine “EZh” was discontinued; Vvedenskij and other Oberiuts had repeatedly contributed to it. The press once again made a scandal out of its apolitical “obscurity,” and personal reprisals followed later. At the time of publication, the illustrator V. Kobelev was working at the LOSSH Experimental Polygraphic Studio. - Clean and in good condition.
