An Indian edition that we have been unable to trace anywhere in the world. - McLennan (1801–74) served in the Bombay Medical Service and at the European and Native General Hospital beginning in 1821. In 1826, he founded the first college for medical education in Bombay, which was closed as early as 1832. In 1845, he played an active role in establishing the more successful Grant Medical College. McLennan translated numerous European textbooks into Hindi and Marathi for local use. The source for this volume is not cited, but the illustrations closely resemble those in Astley Cooper’s best-selling book *On Dislocations and on Fractures of the Joints*, first published in 1822 and still in print decades later. - Modern bookplate and a German dedication dated 1922 on the inside front cover and endpaper; the endpaper is loose. The upper outer corner at the beginning and end has water stains; the bluish paper has sporadic discoloration; otherwise clean. *
