Carlo Biscaretti of Ruffia (1879-1959), Poster 'Anisetta Evangelisti', 1925 Color lithograph on paper, backed with canvas. 138 x 98 cm. Printed by Doyen, Turin. To market his anise liqueur, created at the end of the 19th century, Antonio Luca Evangelisti commissioned the Italian graphic artist, designer, automotive pioneer, and founder of the Automobile Museum in Turin, Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia, in 1925 to design a poster. The slogan 'Liquore da dessert' (dessert liqueur) and the liqueur-drinking monkey against a yellow background captured the spirit of the 1920s and brought about the product's breakthrough.
