Raoul Adam, French 1881-1948- View of a landscape with a bridge across a river, and hills beyond; oil on canvas laid down on board, signed 'R. Adam' (lower right), 29.7 x 57.2 cm. Note: Adam studied in Paris, including at the studios of Fernand Cormon (1845-1924) and Gustave Colin (1828-1910), and also attended courses in decorative arts. His early paintings focused on the Creuse Valley in central France. From 1912, he exhibited at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
