Allen Culpepper Sealy, British 1850-1927- Villa Scott at Menton; oil on panel, signed and dated 'Allen[?] C Sealy 1916' (lower right) and inscribed 'Villa Scott at Menton[?]', inscribed 'Villa Scott - ? Menton by Allen C. Sealey 1916' verso, bears an old inscribed label from the Holzapfel Collection verso, 26.2 x 13.7 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: Sealy was best known for his landscapes and equestrian subjects. He studied at the Bristol School of Art and exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Fine Art Society, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Hibernian Academy, and the Walker Art Gallery.
