Félix Planquette, French 1873-1964- Shepherd and his flock in a sunset landscape; oil on canvas, signed 'Felix Planquette' (lower right), 42 x 61.5 cm. ARR. Provenance: Private Collection. Note: Planquette was best known for his landscape and animal paintings. His works are held in the collections of the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Arras, and the Palais des Beaux-Arts, Lille. The present work is typical of his oeuvre, with cattle and sheep frequently featuring in his sunset landscapes. Similar works include that which sold at Ostantix, Ostend, on 25 November 2025, lot 410 (€1,100 hammer), or another which sold at Dorotheum, Vienna, on 4 July 2023 (€1,040).
