Circle ofHendrik Willem Mesdag, Dutch 1831-1915- Fishing boats at sea; oil on canvas, indistinctly signed 'Denys[?]' (lower left), 69.8 x 90.2 cm. (unframed). Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work appears to be inspired by Mesdag’s atmospheric views of boats at sea, particularly in its handling of the clouds, and recalls works by the artist sold at Hampel, Germany, 25 September 2025, lot 405, and Sotheby’s, London, 12 December 2018, lot 26.
