Circle of Richard Parkes Bonington, British 1802-1828- A woman seated holding a baby; pencil on paper, 14.5 x 16.3 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work very much recalls Bonington's figure studies, such as that which sold at Chiswick on 11 January 2023, lot 32, or another which sold at Sotheby's, London, on 6 July 2022, lot 229. It has been suggested that the present work may be connected to Alexandre Marie Colin (1798-1875), whose sketches of fisherfolk have often been mis-attributed to Bonington.
