Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: The present work is a typical example of de Fleury's coastal scenes, recalling similar works which can be found in the collection of the Guernsey Museum [GUEMG : GMAG 1992.115/6; GUEMG : GMAG 1992.91] and Government House, Jersey [SJA/0000/00589]. The emotional intensity of the present scene is amplified by the atmospheric light of the rising sun.
