After Jean-Baptiste Joseph Pater, French 1695-1736- Le Baiser rendu; oil on canvas, 27.2 x 35.3 cm. Provenance: Private Collection. Note: The present work is a copy after Pater's composition, now in the collection of the Portland Art Museum [7820] and is executed in reverse, suggesting that it was copied from the print by Pierre Filloeul (1696-1755).
