Bullfighting poster “Ferias de 1895.” It exhibits wear consistent with age and use, as well as creases and some dirt. Measurements: 85 x 113 cm; 87 x 115 cm (frame). Bullfighting poster for the 1895 Fairs, designed to announce the four bullfights held on September 22, 23, 24, and 25, and featuring some of the great figures of late 19th-century bullfighting: Luis Mazzantini, Rafael Guerra “Guerrita,” and Antonio Moreno “Lagartijillo.” Beyond its original promotional function, the poster today serves as an interesting visual, historical, and documentary record of the culture of entertainment in turn-of-the-century Spain, and it also stands out for its generous dimensions and the vibrancy of its color printing.
