MIHÁY BODÓ (Budapest, 1957). "Flutist," 2004. Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower right corner. Signed and dated on the reverse. Measurements: 100 x 50 cm. He was born in 1957 in Budapest, Hungary. He lives in Barcelona. He studied sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona. His training in painting is linked to the Torres García Workshop (TTG). His mentor and friend was the New York painter Bruno Fonseca. His background in engineering and philosophy influences the rational structure of his paintings. But above all else is his talent and the originality of his artistic language. He constructs each painting with a meticulous foundation of drawing, upon which he then applies, with very precise brushstrokes, a carefully chosen color palette to create a highly expressive atmosphere of light that captivates the viewer from the very first glance. He has exhibited regularly at the Sala Parés since 1999 and has also shown his work at other galleries in Spain, France, and Hungary.
