Set of 75 reproductions of drawings, a sketchbook, and a sculptural case featuring a reproduction of the David. In good condition. Study book sealed. Measurements: 28 x 38 cm (volumes); 45 x 35 x 25 cm (case). Drawing played a central role in Michelangelo’s creative process, both in his anatomical research and in the preparatory studies for his major compositions. This edition showcases his extraordinary mastery of the human figure through 75 facsimile reproductions, 35 of which are full-size and 40 of which are presented on a reduced scale. The plates—26 of which are die-cut—are printed on 130-gram Magno Volume paper, numbered, and individually mounted in the art book, with the British Museum’s seal on the reverse. It is accompanied by a volume of essays featuring texts by specialists such as Hugo Chapman, Sarah Vowles, and Matthias Wivel, as well as a sculptural lacquered wooden slipcase that incorporates a partial reproduction of the famous David in marmorina, reinforcing the collection’s status as a complete set. A leading figure of the Italian High Renaissance, Michelangelo Buonarroti excelled as a sculptor, painter, and architect. Among his most famous works are the *David*, created between 1501 and 1504 and housed in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, the *Pietà* in the Vatican, and the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. His drawings, essential for understanding his creative process, are housed in prestigious institutions such as the British Museum and the Casa Buonarroti in Florence.
