FERMÍN VALLÉS (Pamplona, 1971). Untitled. Pastel on paper. Signed in the lower left corner. Measurements: 63 x 48 cm; 89 x 74 x 4 cm (frame). The work showcases one of the most sensitive aspects of Fermín Vallés’s figurative oeuvre, focusing here on the emotional bond between two child figures. The embrace anchors the entire composition, rendered through precise drawing and a use of pastel that pays particular attention to skin tones and textures. The warm palette of reds and earth tones is balanced by the blues of the clothing, while the simplified background draws attention to the figures’ intimate gesture. Fermín Vallés, born in Pamplona in 1971, creates figurative paintings in which portraiture and the human figure play a prominent role. In 2011, he chaired the Gárdena Artists’ Group of Navarre and participated in its traveling exhibition *Hallmarks*, presented in various towns throughout Navarre and at the Ciudadela in Pamplona. In 2012, his work was also included in the group exhibition of Navarran artists held at the Parliament of Navarre.
