Working with industrial materials such as steel, lead, rubber, and neon, he explored weight, gravity, balance, materiality, and the physical process of creation. His famous *Verb List*—featuring action verbs like "to roll," "to bend," "to cut," or "to splash"—served as the conceptual starting point for his early works. In this regard, Serra is closely linked art-historically to Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Carl Andre, and Sol LeWitt, while his experimental engagement with material and process shares common ground with the work of Eva Hesse and Robert Smithson. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights and platform fee.
