His meticulously detailed and often grotesquely exaggerated compositions blend Fantastic Realism, Surrealism, and elements of Pop Art into a disconcerting visual language in which human bodies, animals, everyday objects, and consumer motifs collide. His technically precise, almost Old Master-like painting style is reminiscent of Rudolf Hausner, while his provocative—and at times disturbing—depiction of physicality and vulnerability shares common ground with the work of Gottfried Helnwein. Sengl is less interested in an idealized reality than in its estrangement: familiar motifs appear deformed, fragmented, and psychologically charged.
