SCHÄTZPREIS / ESTIMATE °€ 2000 - 4000 STARTPREIS / STARTING PRICE °€ 2000 Gitta Gyenes was a Hungarian artist who was particularly known for her porcelain painting, portraits and caricatures. She learned to paint in several cities, including Budapest, Vienna and Rome. As a woman of the world, she also made the acquaintance of the Hungarian poet Attila Joszef, who was more interested in Gyenes' daughter. In her artistic life she developed a progression from post-impressionism to abstract and cubist tendencies. From 1928, Gyenes was a member of the New Society for Artists. During the Second World War, Gyenes was on the run and later incarcerated. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights and platform fee. In the case of normal taxation (marked ° at the estimate), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax is added to the sum of the highest bid, the buyer's premium and platform fee.
