Alexandre-Claude MELIN (1818-1876). The Promenade. Pen drawing on paper, in its original embossed paper and rosewood frame. Signed. Circa 1840-1850. 34.5 x 30.5 cm (frame). Alexandre Mélin, originally from the Meuse region, spent his entire career in Nancy as a drawing teacher and architect. Together with Albert Cuny, he designed the building that now houses the Goethe Institut. He was an associate national correspondent of the Académie de Stanislas and, of course, a member of the Société d'archéologie lorraine and the Comité du Musée Lorrain.
