GAUMONT Metal STEREODROME (1929). Frosted metal stereoscope, for 6 x 13 cm slides, with a lens and projection lantern. Numbered 4358. Bulb missing—translucent plate on the back has been replaced. The 1929 Gaumont catalog states that the projector “consists of a varnished sheet-metal body with a square condenser at its front end, positioned immediately behind the image to be projected, and housing a special 1-amp bulb at the rear, which plugs directly into a 110- or 220-volt outlet and can be adjusted for centering, height, and depth. The lantern is mounted on the back of the Stereodrome in place of the frosted glass. One of the eyepieces is replaced by a projection lens, and the optical axis is aligned using a small shim placed under the Stereodrome."
