Iwo Jima: Joe Rosenthal Signed Photograph Modern glossy 8 x 10 photo of six United States Marines raising the U.S. flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, "Best wishes to Corpsman Steve Keyser, from Joe Rosenthal." In fine condition. Joe Rosenthal's photograph of the second flag raising atop Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945 became one of the most reproduced images in American history, winning the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in 1945 and later serving as the basis for the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Virginia.
