The vines, planted in 1936, 1942, 1964, and 1972 and covering a total of one hectare, are characterized by a relatively low yield due to their age. The wines made from them are richly colored, dense, and full-bodied, and have an aging potential of 20 years. In the far south of Gevrey-Chambertin, Les Seuvrées enjoys an exceptional location and is in close proximity to the grands crus Mazoyères-Chambertin and Charmes-Chambertin. It is a parcel that bridges the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation, at the junction of the two styles. This hectare of vines, planted between 1938 and 1966, produces marvelous wines for aging, which the estate itself describes as “a Gevrey with character and a tender heart.” Located in the far north of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, the climat Les Bussières takes its name from the Latin “buxus,” meaning boxwood, and refers to a place dotted with bushes, specifically boxwood. The vineyard was planted in four phases: in 1948, 1953, 1964, and 1988. Les Bussières is a transitional climat between the Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis appellations, producing elegant wines with a complex bouquet, best cellared for 4 to 5 years. 2022 is a warm, high-quality vintage. Following a mild and dry winter, the late budbreak protected the vines from the April frosts. Warm weather set in from mid-April and continued through a sunny, at times scorching summer. Rainfall in June and August helped alleviate water stress. The harvest began as early as September 1 at the estate. This excellent year produced deep, ripe, full-bodied, and tannic wines.
