JOZON Jeanne (1868–1946) Two Young Girls. Bronze cast with a brown patina. Signed. Height: 16 cm Note: A French sculptor and ceramicist, Jeanne Jozon (1868–1946) trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bourges, then at the Académie Julian in Paris under Denys Puech. Associated with the Art Nouveau movement, she exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français beginning in 1896, where she received an honorable mention as early as 1897. Her work places significant emphasis on female and child figures, as well as on subjects inspired by folk traditions, particularly those of Brittany. She collaborated with the renowned ceramicist Edmond Lachenal, sometimes combining her bronze sculptures with glazed stoneware pieces. The Breton Departmental Museum in Quimper houses, among other works, a statuette depicting *Two Breton Children*, created around 1890 in collaboration with Lachenal.
