The vines, planted in 1936, 1942, 1964, and 1972 and covering a total of one hectare, are characterized by a relatively low yield due to their age. The wines made from them are richly colored, dense, and full-bodied, with an aging potential of 20 years. On the 34-are parcel from which the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets is produced, the vines were planted in 1947. Purchased by the estate in 2010, it is nestled just below the 1er cru Les Cailles, one of the appellation’s most renowned vineyards. The wines that Domaine Hubert Lignier produces from its small clusters affected by millerandage are concentrated, floral, and elegant. The En Brescul climat is located in the northern part of Pommard: on the upper slopes near Beaune, it overlooks the Clos des Mouches. This terroir is characterized by a very steep slope, as the climat’s name suggests; in Old French, it is said to refer either to a vineyard parcel with a steep incline or to the markedly bent posture of the winegrower working these steep slopes. The estate’s vineyard was planted in 1997 and is spread across three terraces to accommodate the steep gradient of the land. This 41-are parcel became part of the estate in 2014. Considered one of the exceptional vintages, 2019 stands out for its rare balance. After a mild winter, a cold April, and a favorable spring, June turned out to be cool and rainy. The summer, sunny and at times scorching, was saved by the August rains, which promoted even ripening. With remarkable phenolic ripeness, the grapes were harvested as early as September 17 at the estate. The 2019 vintage is distinguished by its outstanding aging potential and by wines that combine depth, density, structure, freshness, and finesse.
