Domaine Hubert Lignier, Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru, Vieilles Vignes, 2022 (3 x Magnum) Region: Burgundy Fill Level: excellent Capsule: ok Cork: ok Label: excellent appearance Packaging: original wooden case Domaine Hubert Lignier, Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru, Vieilles Vignes, 2023 (3 x Magnum) Region: Burgundy Fill Level: excellent Capsule: ok Cork: ok Label: excellent appearance Packaging: original wooden case Notes: The Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes cuvée is a blend of two premier cru parcels: Faconnières, a vineyard planted in 1947 and 1960, and Chenevery, planted in 1936, 1942, and 1943. Located near Clos de la Roche, its soil is very thin. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée produces dense, complex, and smooth wines, made from small clusters affected by millerandage. 2022 is a warm, high-quality vintage. Following a mild and dry winter, the late budbreak protected the vines from the April frosts. Warm weather set in from mid-April and continued through a sunny, at times scorching summer. Rainfall in June and August helped alleviate water stress. The harvest began as early as September 1 at the estate. This excellent year produces deep, ripe, full-bodied, and tannic wines. 2023 is a generous and balanced vintage in the Côte de Nuits. After a mild winter and a spring marked by contrasting weather, the hot and sunny summer—punctuated by a few showers—allows for optimal and even phenolic ripening. The harvest begins on September 9 at the estate, yielding seductive, deep, and persistent wines. The supple, mouth-watering tannins give these wines aging potential spanning several decades. Domaine Hubert Lignier will be pleased to welcome the winning bidder, accompanied by a guest of their choice, to the Musique & Vin 2027 event.
