Located near Clos de la Roche, its soil is very thin. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée produces dense, complex, and smooth wines, made from small clusters affected by millerandage. The start of 2008 was difficult: a rather cool winter gave way to a cold and wet spring that affected flowering. After a fine month of May, rainy and unpredictable weather set in until August. The ripening was saved by a warm and sunny September, as well as by north winds that kept the harvest healthy. With their fine acidity, the 2008 wines are taut, energetic, and precise, supported by a fine, polished tannic structure. 2010 is often considered an exceptional vintage in the Côte de Nuits. The very harsh winter was followed by a warm spring. The wet and cool summer gave way to a miraculous September—warm and dry—that made 2010 a great vintage: small berries with thick skins, fine concentration, and high natural acidity. In the glass, pure fruit, fine structure, and velvety tannins come through. 2012 began with a cold, wet spring and a few episodes of frost. The start of summer, marked by rain and hail, gave way to a sunny, dry, and very hot August. September, with its ideal weather, ensured ripening under excellent conditions: the grapes were highly concentrated, with optimal phenolic ripeness, fine acidity, and soft tannins. The 2012 wines from the Côte de Nuits are deep, very ripe, and balanced. Domaine Hubert Lignier will be pleased to welcome the winning bidder, accompanied by a guest of their choice, to the Musique & Vin 2027 event.
