CHINA, Canton, 19th century Rectangular case made of carved tortoiseshell, featuring a rich relief carving of figures moving among pavilions across its entire surface. (Small chip on one corner, slight wear) 9.5 x 5.7 x 1.5 cm Specimen made of sea turtle shell (Cheloniidae spp.) listed in CITES Appendix I/A. Pre-Convention specimen, dating from before 1947. Free trade within the European Union. To export this item from the EU, a CITES re-export permit will be required (the buyer is responsible for the necessary procedures and costs). The buyer is advised to check the applicable laws in the destination country, as some countries prohibit importation.
