Holy Bible in Latin with engravings by Johann Theodor de Bry. Mognuntia. 1609 Letterpress printing on paper, copperplate engravings, and leather binding. Dimensions: 23 x 16 x 7 cm. A Latin Bible dated 1609, with an engraved architectural title page featuring figures of prophets, evangelists, angels, Christological emblems, and a central Nativity scene. The title page’s composition, with its high iconographic density, reflects the late Mannerist style and the Central European publishing tradition of the early 17th century. The engravings, attributed to Johann Theodor de Bry, are notable for the precision of the burin, the meticulousness of the hatching, and the rich ornamentation—qualities that make the volume a work of significant bibliographic and artistic interest. The leather binding, preserved in acceptable condition, lends material unity and historical character to the whole. Its importance lies both in the quality of its graphic program and in its status as a testament to the religious, publishing, and humanist culture of the early European Baroque. 23 x 16 x 7 cm
