African Bronze Figure. African School. 19th Century Lost-wax bronze casting. Dimensions: 35 cm x 12 cm x 10 cm. African sculpture depicting a standing male figure, holding ritual attributes in both hands. The body is decorated with geometric incisions and body ornaments, typical of the tradition of the Kingdom of Ife-Benin, in present-day Nigeria. The hieratic composition, formal balance, and density of the material confer a powerful symbolic and ancestral character. A representative piece of 19th-century African art, a testament to the technical mastery and spirituality of Yoruba culture.
