Feminine Allegory of the Sciences – French School – 19th Century A bronze sculpture with a green and gold patina depicting a standing female figure, dressed in a classically inspired tunic with her hair pulled back. She holds a staff in her right hand and a small, seemingly scientific instrument in her left. The composition is notable for the rendering of the drapery and the chromatic contrast between the gilded surfaces of the figure’s body and the greenish patina of her clothing. The figure stands on an ornate circular base, raised by a three-legged support with lateral rings and a small lower platform decorated with geometric motifs. Overall dimensions: 170 × 35 × 35 cm. Figure dimensions: 88 × 28 × 26 cm.
