Biblical scene, signed and located in Seville – José Arpa y Perea (1860–1952) Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 181 × 81 cm. Framed: 201 × 103 cm. This religious composition, in an elongated horizontal format, depicts a group of biblical figures set against a rocky landscape. On the left, several elderly men with long beards are draped in flowing white robes, while in the center, a figure points toward a watercourse. On the right, men and women are gathered together with large containers for collecting and transporting water. The work is notable for its atmospheric treatment, a palette of blue, ochre, and gray tones, and the integration of the figures within a monumental setting. Signed and dated in Seville, with a partially worn inscription in the lower right corner, according to historical records from Durán Auctions.
