Warrior with Spear and Shield – Italian School – First Third of the 20th Century A classically inspired warrior figure, cast in patinated bronze, depicted standing and advancing, wearing a helmet with a tall plume, carrying a spear and a circular shield. The idealized anatomy and contrapposto pose are reminiscent of Greco-Roman sculpture, while the execution and patina reflect the Italian sculptural tradition of the early 20th century. The motif of the warrior armed with a spear and shield has numerous precedents in ancient Italian and Etruscan sculpture. Dimensions: 38 × 18 × 12 cm.
