A collection of drawings featuring approximately 30 works to discover, including: - Ody Saban (Turkish, born in 1953) - Patrick Chapelière (French, born in 1953) - Joseph A. Kurhajec (American, born in 1938) - Jaber Al Mahjoub (Tunisian, 1938–2021) Various techniques. Various formats. Provenance: the collection of Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), writer, essayist, and art critic, passed down through the family. Born in Istanbul, trained in Israel and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Ody Saban works in India ink and watercolor on Far Eastern papers, developing dense compositions centered on the face and the body, blending art brut, non-conformist art, and surrealism. Laurent Danchin has dedicated an essay to her, “Sex as If Nothing Had Happened,” in *Aux frontières de l’art brut: un parcours dans l’art des marges* (Lelivredart, Paris, 2013, 639 pp.). Born in Mayenne to a modest family, Chapelière creates dense compositions of flowers and fantastical architecture on scraps of cardboard, etched with the tip of a Bic pen. Born in Racine (Wisconsin), Kurhajec is a self-taught sculptor who divides his time between the United States, France, and Mexico; his expressionist and grotesque work combines wood, bone, horn, plaster, rope, and feathers to create animals, totems, and composite figures. He is among the 25 artists featured by Laurent Danchin in *Mycelium: Savant Genius, Raw Genius* (Editions de l’abbaye d’Auberive, Auberive, 2014). Orphaned at a very young age, Jaber worked as a shepherd, then as a baker and boxer, before devoting himself to painting; he was discovered by Jean Dubuffet. His highly colorful gouaches and acrylics, featuring figures outlined in black, address social and political themes; nicknamed “the king of Beaubourg,” his work is represented at the LaM in Villeneuve-d’Ascq. Laurent Danchin wrote the catalog essay “Jaber, the Birds of Art Brut” (exhibition at La Gaude, September 16–25, 1991, organized by Valérie Jeaume and Pierre Farro), devoted a chapter to him in *Aux frontières de l’art brut* (Lelivredart, Paris, 2013, pp. 95–104), and co-directed the documentary *Jaber* (1998) with Alan Govenar.
