Rémi Trotereau (French, 1956–2026) Untitled Bas-relief and assemblage of ropes, wooden dowels, fabrics, and other materials on canvas. Signed on the back. Height 81, Width 65 cm. American-style frame. Provenance: collection of Laurent Danchin (1946–2017), writer, essayist, and art critic, by family inheritance. Born in Vierzon, Trotereau worked as a modeler at a porcelain factory in Lamotte-Beuvron from 1976 to 1978. In 1984, he moved to Chèze, in the Hautes-Pyrénées. There he created the “Géant Polymère,” an eight-meter-tall resin sculpture. A painter, sculptor, and ceramicist, he worked with clay, wood, rope, fabric, recycled metals, and resins. He died in July 2026.
