Three are signed and dated, one of which bears the artist’s inscription. Height: 9.5 to 15.5; Width: 12 to 29 cm. Provenance: Laurent Danchin (1946–2017) collection—writer, essayist, and art critic—through family inheritance. Born in Paris, this son of a cooper took up the trade himself. Pépé Vignes was also a bal musette accordionist. Settled in Elne, he began drawing around the age of forty, using ballpoint pens and colored pencils. Flowers, boats, fish, and hearts fill his pages.
