Crucifix panel featuring a "Cristo vivo"-style Christ, an ivory statuette mounted on a panel adorned with red velvet and set in a gilded wooden frame This “Cristo vivo” follows the tradition of Christ figures sculpted in France during the 18th century, recognizable by their elongated torso, slightly rounded lower abdomen, a head tilted toward the right shoulder, the simple perizonium forming a lapel at the front, eyes raised toward the sky, and feet placed side by side. The quality of the carving, the detail of the drapery of the perizonium pulled aside at the left hip, the prominence of the ribs and veins in the arms, and the incised pupils make this a fine example of a Christ figure from the French workshops of this period.
