From an elevated position on a hill planted with vines, Fußberg, the view of historic Wiesbaden opens up. The small-scale engraved buildings are easily recognizable and explained by the legend at lower left. The depiction is from the Topographia Hassiae of 1655 and shows Wiesbaden still as a well-arranged town with many buildings that are no longer preserved today. To be seen are, among others: Palace with Court Chamber Building, the Parish Church of St. Mauritius, the Stadtpfort, the Sonnenbergerthor, the Heydenpfort, the Badherberg zur Roßen, the "Stumpfe Turm" and many more. Enlarged etching after the original on two sheets of paper, which were joined in the center after printing. The sheet is numbered "23/25" in pencil on the lower margin and signed(?) "Pasap-Daiberg[?]" on the right. Keywords: 19th century, Romanticism, Architecture, Germany, Size: Paper: 46,1 cm x 92,7 cm (18,1 x 36,5 in), Depiction: 31,2 cm x 78,0 cm (12,3 x 30,7 in) Condition: Rather good condition. The sheet is slightly wavy and weakly rubbed in places. The paper is discolored due to its age. Light damage in the form of former framing is visible around the image. Stains and soiling are visible on the edge of the sheet.
