The emperor is wearing richly decorated armor with a fur-trimmed cloak and a crown. He holds the imperial orb in his left hand and a sword in his right. The surrounding decorative frame—printed separately—is adorned with armor, weapons, allegories, and vanitas motifs, emphasizing the imperial dignity of the subject.
