Jacques Prévert French poet, screenwriter, dialogue writer and lyricist, famous for his puns, the popular force of his poems and his numerous collaborations with great filmmakers. Published in 1946, Paroles brings together texts written at different periods, some of which were already in circulation before the war. Prévert mixes spoken language, humour and social criticism. Spectacle, a collection published in 1951, brings together poems, songs, sketches and theatrical texts and thus brings together various forms, linked to Prévert's interest in the stage and the living word. There are theatre texts written in the 1930s for the Groupe Octobre, a travelling troupe of which he was the main author and which performed in the street, factories and meetings, with an oral, burlesque and satirical tone intended to denounce social injustices and the powerful.
