Russian School, 19th century The Great Balloon Exhibition in Saint Petersburg oil and collage on canvas laid to panel 30 1/2 x 44 in. (77.5 x 111.8 cm) Property from the Collection of Dr. Kira and Mr. Neil Flanzraich, Coral Gables, Florida This lot is located in Philadelphia. Framed: 36 1/2 x 50 in. Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; under a significantly discolored varnish; pinpoint to small brown and black stains throughout; pinpoint droplets of white paint in the lower left corner; canvas is slightly lifting from the board along the upper right edge of the frame. Under UV light: scattered small areas fluoresce within the sky, corresponding with the brown stains; one area of inpainting in the lower center, approximately 1 1/2 x 2 inches in area, below the number "3" balloon; one small area of inpainting along the extreme lower right corner edge.
